NAME
Ranboo (real name unknown)
D.O.B.
Unknown; around age 20
SPECIES
Human
ROLE
The Hero
Personality
After all that he's been through, Ranboo will at first come across as a bundle of anxiety; despite that, however, he cares for others, and, when not fighting for his life or stressed half to death, he can be very polite and kindhearted. Though it's buried under years of trauma, there is, in fact, a sense of humor in there, as well; the trick is making him feel safe enough to actually bring it out.
Due to being subjected to years of control and abuse, of not being the owner of his own body, he can be weird and detached about things sometimes, and may become overwhelmed or frightened by physical contact-- if you're a stranger, you're likely to get swatted away at first unless you communicate very clearly with him about it first. It's nothing personal... he's just been through a lot.

CANON
SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE ENTIRE PLOT OF GENERATION LOSS: THE SOCIAL EXPERIMENTS! INCLUDING ENDING SPOILERS!
At an unknown point in the past, Ranboo became the "property" of the company Showfall Media, producers of some very... unique entertainment. It isn't clear exactly when they started or where they came from, but what is clear is that they're abducting people to use in their "shows."
Ranboo, dubbed the Hero by Showfall, was chosen to be the protagonist of their latest experiment-- interactive entertainment, streamed live to the homes of their viewers. Those viewers were then encouraged to take part in the show itself, voting on decisions that determined the story's path.
The first episode of the interactive series saw Ranboo waking up in a cabin and confronting a slimy demon. The second was a SAW-inspired horror flick, featuring Ranboo attempting, and largely failing, to save the lives of the other competitors, though they themselves survived until the end. The finale saw the truth revealed to Ranboo-- that they had been competing in a cruel show, and that they would be doomed to continue performing in it forever-- and culminated in the audience being given a final decision: should Ranboo live on, continuing to perform as a permanent member of the cast? Or should he die, and effectively be freed from the violent performances and loss of their own freedom?
In the end, the audience chose mercy, and allowed Ranboo to die. We still aren't sure that we made the right choice. We certainly hope so.
THE MASK
The mask was attached to Ranboo when he woke up at the beginning of the first episode. He has no memory of how he got it or when, or what he looks like without it. It isn't clear how he survives, since it isn't possible to eat or drink with it on.
The mask's function is twofold-- it functions both as a device to allow the audience, and Showfall, to control Ranboo's actions, and as a storytelling device for the audience as well. It has different patterns of flashing lights-- a steady light signifies that Ranboo is under our control, their perception influenced by how the audience chooses for him to behave. A flashing light means that the signal is interrupted somehow, and Ranboo frequently seems disoriented during these times. When the lights are entirely turned off, Ranboo is lucid and under his own control-- to an extent, at least. The lights also shut off automatically if Ranboo dies, implying the device draws power from his body.
The mask is attached to Ranboo by wires that feed into his mouth, and possibly other places as well. It isn't clear exactly how deeply they're run into his body, but it is clear that removing the mask would be a very difficult and invasive procedure, and potentially dangerous to Ranboo. That likely won't stop him from trying, though.
